The rescheduled ICC T20 Men’s Cricket World Cup has finally kicked off in Oman on Sunday, October 17 with a match where the host Oman took a win over Papua New Gunie with 11 wickets.
Firstly the host of the tournament was scheduled to be Australia in 2020, later India at the beginning of 2021 but due to the Covid-19 pandemic event moved to the UAE and Oman at the last moment. However, Australia will be the host of the Rugby World Cup 2022.
Our New Zealand cricket team is positioned in Super 12 group 1 among India, Pakistan, Afghanistan, and two other top “To Be Known” national teams from round 1 group A and B.
The first New Zealand’s match againts Pakistan starts at 16:00 (CET) on Tuestday, 26 October.

ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2021
The ICC Men T20 Cricket World Cup is an international tournament organized by the International Cricket Council (ICC).
The Twenty20 Internationals tournament consists of 16 teams with 6 teams selected through the T20 World Cup qualifiers and the other top ten from the rankings in the given deadline.
The first tournament was held in 2007 in South Africa and has been held every two years since. The seventh Rugby World Cup 2020 was to be held in Australia but due to Covid-19 and all the things that happened then, it was cancelled.

A total of 16 teams will play in the tournament.
In the first rounds of the cup, 8 teams participate in two groups with the main goal of qualifying for the main round (Super 12).
Group A: Sri Lanka, Ireland, Namibia, Oman, Netherland Group. (Qualification group stats from 2021-10-21) Group B: Scotland, Oman, Bangladesh, Pakistan, Zimbabwe and New Zealand. (Qualification group stats from 2021-10-21) The top two teams from Group A and B will join the Super 12 groups which include the top-ranked Cricket teams from around the world.
Super 12 group 1: Australia, England, South Africa, West Indies, winner of group A and runner-up group B teams. Super 12 group 2: Afghanistan, India, New Zealand, Pakistan, winner of group B and runner-up group A teams. Then the group play will start, the first two teams from both groups will be placed in the semifinals.
The semi-finals are scheduled for November 10 in Abu Dhabi (Dubai) while the final night will take place on November 14 in Dubai!
